Following a path
A payline game checks specified routes across its reel positions. A match may need to begin on one side and continue through a minimum number of reels. Some games sum eligible paths, while others apply a different evaluation rule. Dragon Garden, for example, describes its highest matching path in the in-game rules.
Seeing connections
Other presentations emphasise groups or connected positions. Deepglow Ribbon Theatre uses luminous connections to show its settled result. A visual connection is meaningful only under that game's rules: similar-looking pictures across an unrelated layout do not automatically form an award.
Compare without spending credits
Open previews for two titles and look at how each highlights its scene. Then open their individual rule panels during play. The catalogue's theme tells you what a game looks like, not necessarily how it evaluates matches. Use the details and actual rules to understand that distinction.
